“VAKAREL” PROJECT
For seventeen years the church in Vakarel has used a container for its services. One night in the winter of 2008, God woke me and spoke to me that the time to build a new church building has come. A few months later, at a conference in North Carolina, USA Pastor David Crank released a prophetic word confirming God’s words given to me for a new church building in Vakarel.
During the spring of 2009, the container was removed and on the same place we started to build. At the beginning of April, the first floor was finished, yet the local people collected a petition demanding the building project be stopped and the church activities ceased. Their reason was that we were dangerous for their children and they did not want an evangelical church to exist in the village anymore.
The petition was sent to the NBC-Sofia (National Building Control) and the church activity was given to the NSA (National Security Agency) for investigation. The local mafia (the instigators of the petition) has threatened me and church members many times with kidnapping and taking the law into their own hands. It was a very hard and discouraging time for all of us; however, God used Pastor Peter Wins who prophesied confirmation of the word that God had given to me and said not to be afraid, but to continue the work!
At the end of May, we received a notice that the position of the NBC-Sofia stood, together with orders for demolishing the building. Then, we were given a 14-day deadline to voluntarily destroy the building and if we had not complied by then, they would forcibly demolish the building and we would be forced to forfeit a great deal. We fulfilled the order and on the 17th of August 2009, a commissioner from NBC inspected the site and confirmed that the building had been destroyed according to their orders. On this place there is now a heap of ruins and our enemy has celebrated thinking that he is a winner, but he does not know how much HE actually lost!
Now we are again starting the slow and tedious procedure of acquiring new permits; however, we believe that there is nothing impossible with God for those who believe in Him. Every believer in the El Shaddai churches was given a concrete piece from the ruins. At all of our meetings we prophesy, confessing God’s word over them—stone to stone to come together, and the building to come alive. Let everyone see and be in fear of how Almighty our God is!
We have passed through a hard battle which cost us a lot of effort, time and funds, but we believe that after every big battle comes a great victory! We have been preparing to build again and with God’s help, we expect to have the new building soon.
