People often ask me way our church is called El Shaddai and what does it mean this name. If we study the Bible we will see, that God has many names by which He reveals Himself to people and each one of these names shows us a side of His essence and character. For example, Jehovah Ire means God is our Provider, and Jehovah Rapha means God is our Healer. There are people who know God only in one light and have only experienced Him in a certain area of their lives. If you do not know God as Healer, you will never enjoy healing. If you do not know Jehovah Ire, you will never enjoy in full prosperity.
Let’s look at Genesis 17 where God revealed Himself to Abram and said „I am the Almighty God“. In the Hebrew language, the word is El Shaddai and it means Almighty God, The Superior, The Provider, The Inexhaustible , The nursung God. Shaddai can be described as well as a woman’s breast from which a young child sucks; it feeds from there to grow and strengthen. The Almighty God is able to feed his children at any time. His resources never run out. Why? For He is the Inexhaustible God – El Shaddai.
If you need food and strength, know that you can find them at El Shaddai.
Genesis 17 / 1-4, 17:
“ And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.“
„…Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?..“.
Let us now see what is written about Abraham in Romans” 4 / 18 -20.
„Who (Abraham) against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;“.
Are we talking about the same person here? In Genesis we read that he laughed saying, “How can this be? I am 100 years old. She’s 90, so her womb is dead.” And in Romans it is said that he „did not doubt through unbelief, but was established in faith and gave God the glory…..that what God has promised, He is able to fulfill“. It seems as if Romans 4 is in stark contrast to Genesis 17.
What happened during the time when God spoke to him, and Abraham was 86 years old / Genesis / and then, when God appeared to him and he was 99 years old / Genesis 17 (the second part of the chapter) and Romans 4 / 18- 19 /?
Something had happened to Abraham that changed his life forever and he had become strong and full of confidence and never deviated, erred or be moved.
As you know, Hagar, Sarah’s maidservant, conceived and bore a child to Abraham, whom they named Ishmael. Abraham loved Ishmael. He wanted Ishmael to be the offspring God had spoken to him about. And Abraham was 86 years old when Ishmael was born. Then God did not speak to him for 13 years. Why? Because Ishmael was not the one promised by God. Ishmael was the result of an act of the flesh.
In fact, the problem was that Abraham and Sarah had not understand how God’s promise would be fulfilled, and they applied the old custom that if Hagar gave birth to a child from Abraham in Sarah’s lap, Sarah had the right to recognize him as her owen child. So they did. And the real reason was that they only knew God in one way. Abraham did not know God as El Shaddai, but only as Elohim. This is Elohim that we see in Genesis 1 chapter.
Elohim is the Creator of everything – the sky, the universe, the planet Earth, the man and woman. Elohim is the One who founds and establishes all natural laws.He is the One who governs and keeps these laws. The order is established and bread is bread, and wine is wine. That is why in their minds they said, „God, You say that we will have a child and that it will be born from Sarah.“ However, You are the Lord Elohim, the Creator of the laws; of the man and the woman, and in order to have a child the Sarina’s womb must be alive. This is the law of Elohim. There can be no child if the womb is dead. Right?” This is a natural law.
But the Scriptures say, that when God appeared again to Abraham, who was 99 years old, He did not say to him: „I am Elohim“. He revealed Himself to him in a way that Abram did not know. He said: „I am El Shaddai“.
And now let us see the differences between Elohim and El Shaddai.
Elohim – The One Who created the nature and holds and preserves natural laws.
El Shaddai – The One who has the power to change nature and natural laws; capable of cancelling, extending, accelerating, reversing, and overturning the laws that Elohim has created.
Let me note something very important so that you are not left with a misunderstanding or confusion. God will never break or ignore spiritual laws. El Shaddai will overturn the natural laws. Spiritual laws are eternal. The laws of nature can only be overcome if it is necessary for God to keep His word and fulfill the promises He made to his children.And if it is necessary to overturn, speed up, or extend the natural law to fulfill God’s spoken promise to you, then El Shaddai will do it! He can turn water into wine, multiply bread and fish, and make a dead womb give birth.
You know the story of how Sarah conceived and gave birth to Isaac and how Abraham became the father of many nations, as God had promised him. Like Abram, when you receive a revelation from El Shaddai, never again doubt God’s promise. When you receive a revelation from El Shaddai, do not agree with what the natural law says, nor what the circumstances say. Act with confidence. And at the moment when the devil tells you: „There is no way and there is no way out“ you just have to get up and say: „Fall! This is a job for El Shaddai”.
Perhaps the reason you doubt and waver is because you do not have this revelation and do not know El Shaddai. Maybe you’re still not convinced. Then you need the revelation of El Shaddai. When you receive a revelation from Him, suddenly, anything will become possible!
Do you remember the story in John 2:1 where Jesus turned the water into wine? This was the first miracle He did. Do you realize how long it will take to plant a seed, grow grapes and make wine? I’ll tell you, in the natural world it takes two, three years. Then, this wine needs two, three years to age, and the best wine needs five to six years!
John 2:9-10 says: „When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.“ The good wine!
El Shaddai accelerated the natural laws and good wine was made not in 6 years, but in seconds! What are you doing? Are you standing and trying to figure out how God plans to provide the necessary finances to pay your bills? What are you telling Him? “Lord, the deadline is up! Lord, if you don’t intervene, they will cut off my electricity.“ Calm down! If everything seems impossible, it is a job for El Shaddai. If you are under pressure and in the natural world everything seems impossible, then it is time for you to receive a revelation about El Shaddai.
Before the Church to leave the earth, there will be a great manifestation of El Shaddai, Who will hasten the natural laws. And now, He is here for you. Some of you are under pressure and say, “How could this happen to us. Lord, what shall we do?” Ask in faith and El Shaddai will speed up, slow down, change or overturn the laws of nature for you!
Don’t give up on any seed you have planted. Don’t give up on the harvest of this seed either. Just face the problem and don’t be afraid.
EL SHADDAI IS HERE FOR YOU !
